FORGET YOUR DREAMS 1990's
'art-music'

In the town of Lewes, there was a house with a basement and in this basement there was a pile of junk, it was damp, often cold and cramped but it had a drumkit and some amps and sometimes it had Judge Mental, Percy Cution, Christian Burial and Jon Bon Tempi and Stooky Bill, to name but a few. There were no proper drumsticks so they used curtain rods..the mikes were crap the 4-track was ok
. So basically the Judge sang and played drums..making up the words as he went..the others joined in and sometimes sang too. This band actually went out and played in public in the great city of Brighton..without having a clue what they were doing and no rehearsal. However the good and drunk citizens of the town responded rather well to 'Forget Your Dreams' and they ended up playing about 3 gigs. They also compiled some of their best bits into a collection and even had the presence of mind to shoot a VHS video of one of their rare shows. They could sometimes also be found playing in the rehearsal rooms under Brighton station...but never actually rehearsing.

They recorded many hours of musical mayhem, now sitting in a large bag on the floor. These tunes here are some of the most notable bits sifted from that bag. FYD was a great experiment and well worth it, but like all good bands, they split up and left town never to play together again. Maybe one should never say never..

By this time (late 90's) we are approaching the dawn of readily available consumer 'digital' recording devices and the day of the cassette is surely numbered. Infact these are the last things I ever recorded on the medium..it's nice that the music is all still there in those bags having been lost and found many times over..I have a feeling that had this stuff been on a computer hard drive or cd's it'd all be long gone by now..maybe time will tell whether that is an accurate assumption.
